A Record-Breaking Day for CHEO's Tiniest Patients
The 2026 Birdies for Babies Charity Golf Tournament brought together a sold-out field of golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and community leaders at Rideau View Golf Club and raised a record-breaking $83,000 for CHEO's NICU.
From memorable moments on the course to an incredible display of generosity, it was a day that showcased the power of community and brought Birdies for Babies' three-year fundraising total to more than $218,000.

Since 2001, the Sandra Schmirler Foundation has raised and given over $9 million to purchase life-saving equipment for NICUs in over 100 hospitals in every Canadian province and territory, including over $300,000 for babies in Ottawa hospitals. The lives of thousands of premature and critically ill babies have been saved because of the Sandra Schmirler Foundation.
CHEO
The Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) is a pediatric health-care and research centre located in Ottawa. CHEO is also a tertiary trauma centre for children in Eastern Ontario, Nunavut, Northern Ontario and the Outaouais region of Quebec and one of only seven Level I trauma centres for children in Canada.
