In the words of our 2024 guest speaker, Pascale Letendre: “Together, we have the power to make a difference. Together, we can help ensure that every baby receives the care and support they need to thrive. Every little bit helps. Thank you for helping us save the lives of babies born too soon, too small or too sick. Champions do start small but it takes a village. Thank you for choosing to be part of our village.”
Sara Miller is the daughter of Canadian curling legend Sandra Schmirler and a passionate advocate for the legacy her mother left behind. Born just two and a half years before Sandra’s passing in 2000, Sara has grown up in Saskatchewan carrying forward her mother’s inspiring story of perseverance, excellence, and giving back.
A competitive curler herself, Sara understands firsthand the impact of sport and community. She is deeply involved with the Sandra Schmirler Foundation, which raises funds to support life-saving equipment for premature and critically ill babies in NICUs across Canada—continuing the mission that was so close to her mother’s heart.
Sara’s journey is one of resilience, strength, and the power of legacy. At Birdies for Babies, she will share her personal story and the profound impact of the Foundation’s work, inspiring us all to make a difference for families in need.
